Thesis Statement for APA Argument Essay on an Environmental Issue:
Submit the thesis statement that you are planning to use in your argument paper.
Explain your thesis and approach to the topic and ask any questions you might have about the clarity and/or effectiveness of your thesis. What feedback would help you refine your thesis? Your post should be at least 150 words, including the thesis and your questions/comments about it.

Your discussion post will be graded according to the following criteria:
- 80% – Thoughtful original post that includes both your tentative thesis and your questions/comments about it (at least 150 words)
- 20% – Thoughtful response to a classmate’s post that responds to their questions/comments (at least 75 words)

My thesis: The privatization of water an ultimately lead to permanent loss of water quality and an increase in costs that will only benefit private companies and not the well-being of people.
In my thesis goes straight to the point on why water privatization can have negative effects in the long run. Although it may seem great at first, giving a company control of an essential product can be harmful because they may not have stringent regulations to follow. What companies care about is making revenue, not the health of people, so if they have to cut costs, so be it. A question I would ask about the carity and/or effectiveness of my thesis is how can I make my statement more impactful? Some feedback I would give to myself is that I need to elaborate more on what is leading to a permanent loss of water quality.

I really like how clear your thesis statement is. I think to make your thesis more impactful, you can add the reasons why water privatization is negative in the long run. How is it affecting the Earth’s environment? What can we do about it? What are the short-term effects? I agree with the feedback you gave yourself, but that can always be elaborated with more research. I think you are off to a great start and your thesis looks nice so far.
