CLASSMATE’s
It is obvious that having tough gun laws in Chicago are not decreasing criminal behavior as the cause of death. Therefore, we must take another approach not only to combat criminal behavior as a cause of death but crime on a whole. Areas with the highest criminal activities should targeted. Create educational opportunities, career opportunities and rehabilitation opportunities for former offenders. Crime prevention programs and drug prevention programs should also be implemented. Because, in order to combat crime, we must focus on those who are already involved in crime and those who are at risk of becoming criminals. Finally, harsher penalties for crime may also serve as a deterrent. Crime is a social problem; therefore, crime cannot be combatted only by law enforcement; the entire community have a part to play.
